Al Capp negli anni settanta..

Alfred Gerald Caplin 1909−1979. Conosciuto ai più come Al Capp. Scrittore, sceneggiatore e grande fumettista americano, negli anni settanta ormai all'apice della sua maturità artistica e letteraria, (fu proposto nel 1953 da John Steinbeck come premio Nobel), disse: "Il fumetto sta diventando l'ultimo rifugio dell'arte classica".
Frase un po' forte.. Ma che indubbiamente, quasi quarant'anni dopo, deve per forza farci riflettere per poi discutere..

Al Capp's Li'l Abner: The Frazetta Years Volume 4 (1960-61) HC

Years before Japan invaded the American auto market, Capp presciently depicts the success of the $19.95 Japanese Nomotocar (it has no motor), and Capp foresaw the cross-breeding of animals long before DNA manipulation.
